SHASTA COUNTY – Are you a parent, grandparent or caregiver looking for fun and healthy activities over the summer? The Summer Fun Challenge Passport is back for more fun-in-the-sun adventures!

A passport with 10 challenges to help youth stay active and healthy has been created by the youth alcohol and drug prevention program at Shasta County Health & Human Services Agency – Public Health, in partnership with Healthy Shasta. The challenge provides opportunities to spend quality time with friends and family. Riding the Beach Bus to Whiskeytown Lake, adventuring a new trail, and connecting with family for game night are just a few of the fun challenges. All activities promote increasing physical activity, bolstering social connections, and practicing healthy behaviors.

Last summer, youth and parents both agreed that the passport promoted a healthier and more exciting summer break. Past grand prize winner Ethan shared, “The passport encouraged me to get more outdoors.” A parent expressed, “This was a super fun challenge and I really loved how simple it was to incorporate into the summer.”

To download the free 2023 Summer Fun Challenge Passport, visit www.thinkagainshasta.com/activities/. You can also pick up a copy at a local library in Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake, Cottonwood, Shingletown, Burney, or Fall River Mills today!

The challenge ends August 15, 2023, so make sure to submit your passport with as many challenges checked off as you were able to complete to be entered into a free drawing.
