APPLICANTS SOUGHT FOR MENTAL HEALTH, ALCOHOL AND DRUG ADVISORY BOARD

SHASTA COUNTY – The Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board (MHADAB) is recruiting for three new members to attend meetings every other month, starting in January.

The 15-member board provides oversight for Shasta County’s mental health system and substance use programs and requires a mix of members. The current recruitment seeks a veteran or veterans’ advocate (such as a parent, spouse or adult child of a veteran), and consumers of mental health and/or substance use services or their family members. 

Applicants must:

• Be Shasta County residents.
• Have lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use, or have a family member with that lived experience.
• Be available for meetings. MHADAB meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every other month, excluding December, though this schedule may change.

Candidates for MHADAB should submit applications by Oct. 20 to be considered at the Nov. 1 meeting, although applications are accepted year-round.
