New covid-19 variants detected in Shasta County 07/13/2022

Shasta County Public Health has reported another 2 Shasta County men dead of Covid in the past week, one in his 60s and one in his 70s. The case rate is considered high at 131 per 100,000. There are 27 people hospitalized with Covid and 6 in the ICU. The BA.2 and BA.5 variants have been detected in Shasta County.
