Shasta County Fire Department Station 47 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Officials from Shasta County , Sierra Pacific Industries, and CAL FIRE / CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit gathered on Monday, Nov 28, for the ribbon cutting ceremony of Shasta County Fire Department Station 47.
The new station is situated between I-5 and Highway 273, allowing quick access, in either direction of both corridors, providing approximately 30K residents and the industrial businesses in these unincorporated areas, faster response times to emergencies. Firefighters anticipate officially operating out of Station 47 this December.
The land for the station was graciously donated to Shasta County by Sierra Pacific Industries and accepted by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors in March 2021. Groundbreaking for the fire station was July 21, 2021, and the facility architecture was done by Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto Architects and Engineers.
“This is the first facility of its kind for Shasta County Fire Department”, Said CAL FIRE/Shasta County Fire Department Chief Sean O’Hara.
“We look forward to enhancing our capabilities and service from this location. Thanks to the support of the Shasta County Board of Supervisors, Sierra Pacific Industries, the City of Anderson and many generations of Shasta County Firefighters, many who are in attendance today, we are able to be here today”.
