Request for Proposals - Accessory Dwelling Unit Prototype Plans

Shasta County is seeking design services for Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Prototype Plans. Accepted plans will be used as Pre-Approved ADU plans, offered at no or little cost to homeowners and contractors for expedited permitting.

We are accepting proposals for one-bedroom units no larger than 850-square-feet as well as two-bedroom units no larger than 1,000-square-feet.

The goal is for Shasta County property owners to be able to build an ADU and expedite the long permitting process, since these plans will be pre-approved for most cases. An ADU can be used to house a family member or for additional income through rent.
