BOS Approves Six Additional Jail Staff

In an effort to reopen the third floor of the Jail, which was closed on July 28, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved the addition of 6.0 Full Time Equivalent Public Safety Service Officers (PSSOs) to the Jail budget, as requested by the sheriff’s office. 

PSSOs are able to support Correctional Officer I/II – Deputy Sheriffs by completing duties which do not require peace officer powers, such as primary custody, security, and property management, allowing the Correctional Officers to focus on duties directly related to inmate management.
