This week, we sit down for a discussion with three members of our Jail Command Staff to learn about what qualities are desirable in a candidate for a Correctional Deputy. As you will hear, many types of people from all walks of life can hand a great career in corrections!

Once the new courthouse is open, court Departments 1 and 2 (which are connected to the jail) will be freed up to use in different ways. Shasta County will soon have a new courthouse. With that new location, a different way to transport inmates from the Shasta County Jail to court appearances will become necessary. In week three of our series looking at the jail, we talk with Shasta County Undersheriff Brian Jackson about the work that went into coming up with this revised process, and how it will impact jail operations and staffing.
