Boating Safety
The Shasta County Sheriff's Boating Safety Unit is located at Bridge Bay Resort on the main dock, on beautiful Lake Shasta. The unit is comprised of one Sergeant, and one Boating Safety Officer. During the summer months an additional 12 seasonal Boating Safety Officers are employed.
The California Department of Boating and Waterways and local taxes fund the Boating Safety Unit. The unit is responsible for boating safety enforcement on all waterways within Shasta County except for Whiskeytown Lake.
